TRADITIONS PUB "TRADS" is different from every other bar, Club or Pub I have been to. A very cozy and casual setting mixed with plenty of attractive women ranging in ages from 21 to 45.
The Chicken fingers basket was mouthwatering. The 2 Hi Def TV viewing stations by the main circular bar made my stay all that more pleasant. Highly recommended.

Queens' hidden gem. The prices on mixed drinks are ridiculously low. Even though I am older (38), I felt so young and alive talking with different young ladies through out the evening. A Live DJ came on at 10:30pm which really made my night. Regardless of how old you are, TRADITIONS PUB is the place to go.

We pass by this place every night coming back from work. I usually see people standing on line waiting to get in, so we were curious and decided to stop in on a Thursday night. I am 43 and my co-worker is 39. The atmosphere was very inviting. There were pretty girls sitting by the bar which were younger than us. Regardless, our friendly bartender Marina served us promptly. We started talking to those women and ended up having a wonderful night!
We enjoyed ourselves more at Traditions Pub than other bars we usually frequent that have people our own age.

We came (five of us) from Syracuse, NY to visit our relatives who live two blocks from Traditions Pub for Thanksgiving. We remembered that place from years ago and decided to walk there. To our surprise, there was a whole assortment of different food which was available to all customers for free.
Every entree was delicious and the 2 bartenders (Danielle & Marina) were outstanding! They kept the beer flowing all night long. The rustic atmosphere and good crowd made for a wonderful evening.

I was told by a few friends that Traditions or Trads is Queens' most famous college bar... so I assumed only College students went there, right? I am 31 years old, so I was a bit skeptical if this place was right for me. Regardless, I took the chance and decided to go there on a Thursday night. To my surprise, there was an older crowd.
Additionally, a talented performer called Kevin Leveritch came on at 10pm, which made my stay much more enjoyable than I ever expected. I have been to many different bars in Queens and I must say Trads has now become my favorite destination.

Trads is our favorite place in Queens to unwind and have a good time. No matter what time we go there, there's usually a lively crowd. The bartenders always take care of us. Keep up the good work.

I live in Astoria where there are many dance clubs, theme bars, cafes and pubs literally on every street corner. One of my friends that goes to a local College in that area told me about Trads.
I went there on a Friday Night to check out the action. A very friendly gentleman who introduced himself as "Greg" was standing outside. He greeted me and opened the door to let me in.
WOW! The place was full of beautiful women everywhere. I really enjoyed myself and was lucky enough to met a fine young lady that night. The 3 female bartenders were outstanding. I told many of my friends and we know where we will be going every Friday night.

The 5 of us stopped by Traditions Pub last Monday Night to watch the football games. We got there around 8pm. The bar was crowded, yet we were still able to find a good spot and relax.
Since the last time we visited the place, I noticed there were 3 new HD TV sets.
Danielle, our bartender was very friendly and attentive. She told us "from 9 to 11pm is Trads Late Night Happy Hour and at 10pm, there is a FREE chicken wing buffet". I must say those wings were very delicious!
We highly recommend TRADITIONS. Thanks again Danielle for your hospitality.

I have to agree with the other reviews. I have been to just about every established bar/pub in Queens, including many in NYC. Traditions Pub is definitely one of my favorite destinations. It's easy to get to and I always find parking. The food is exceptional, especially their Shepherd's Pie.
The bartenders are always nice and never keep me waiting. Compared to the other bars, the prices for their mixed drinks are very reasonable. I like this place and will go back next week for sure.

Me and my friends went there Tuesday night. The bar was fairly crowded. To our surprise, there were not just college students, but a slightly older crowd as well. The place as cozy and the bartender (Marina) was simply the best.
Me and my 3 girlfriends were hungry, so we ordered the Shepard's Pie. I must say it was very delicious and we even received a complimentary beverage with our food. Not bad for $5.85. At 10pm, a live DJ called "Jay Ce" started playing music in the party room.
By 11:00pm the dance floor was packed with people. Every song this DJ played was awesome. We had such a good time that we ended up staying later than we originally expected.
We had a fantastic evening and plan on going back to Traditions real soon.

TRADITIONS PUB has been there over 40 years.
I stopped by last week during "HAPPY HOUR" (5 to 7pm) Mon thru Frid for the first time in 6 months. I was surprised to see the place was recently renovated.
WOW! What a BIG difference. The place had a very cozy atmosphere. The cute bartenders were friendly and served me right way. The crowd was slightly older & diverse, definitely NOT the usual college scene.
I ONLY paid $2.00 for an Ice Cold bottle of Budweiser Beer!
I don't know of any other Pub that sells Bud in a bottle for such a LOW price!
PINTS of Coors Light, SAM ADAMS or GUINNESS were only $2.50
There was a sign which stated they NOW have a new CREDIT CRUNCH LUNCH & DINNER menu (from 2 to 8pm).... Shepherd's Pie, "TRADS" Burger Plate and Sausage & Peppers (aside from the chicken fingers, mozarella sticks, buffalo wings, french fries & onion rings).
I ordered the Shepherd's Pie. I must say that not only was the portion huge (I could barely finish it), but it was also the most delicious and best tasting I've ever eaten!
(this Irish specialty dish is one of my favorites. I have already tried it at most of the well known Pubs & established Restaurants throughout the tri-state area).
It cost $5.85 and I even got a FREE glass of beer!
What more could I ask for?
Well...
I ended up meeting some new friends (2 very nice women in their mid 30's who came there for a few drinks from Whitestone). We were talking for a while and the time went by rather quickly.
Just as I was contemplating of leaving, members from a Band came in and began to set up their equipment. Personally, I have not seen a good LIVE BAND at a local Pub/Bar in a long time, so I ended up staying.
I must say that it was definitely the right decision! By the time "THE RED LIGHTS" started to play, the place had a lively crowd and the band was simply amazing!
I had originally intended to stay at TRADITIONS PUB for no more than a few hours. 5 hours later, I was still having a great time. I ended up leaving 2:30am with a smile on my face.
Over the years, me and my friends have literally been to every Pub, Bar & Night Club in Queens, Astoria, Long Island and New York City.
I must say that TRADITIONS PUB really left an indelible impression and I have already been there again on numerous occasions.
All my friends said the exact same thing too.
All kidding aside, their Shepherd's Pie is the BEST IN QUEENS!
If you don't believe me, stop by and try it for yourself.
