I have been going to Mitchell's bar and grill now since it's open. You may remember the kind courteous owner as " Mike " from the old shau cuttery's that closed down across the street two years ago. I was so overjoyed he was back and still has the greatest hero's I have ever had in my life has been incorporated into the front of the restaurant. So if you're not feeling a big sit down dinner, go in a grab a sensational hoagie. The ambiance is Jazz like and elegant and the service is second to none. you will see a lot of local police chiefs eating in there ( They always have a nose for where the good food is. ) I had one of his more expensive steak's on the menu, " The Tomahawk "; when I kidded mike I hope it's on par with my favorite steaks from Peter Luger's he said, " You are going to eat your words after you dine on this delicacy of American Kobe lightly brushed with olive oil and just a little butter. " He bought the steak out after it was cooked to present it to us and than carved it for us. It was served over a sensational mash potato and Mediterranean style vegetables steamed just right. When I tell you I could have gotten another if I wasn't so full, I would have just to take home and eat the next day! He has the best steak in Brooklyn! A perfect Ten! I should have known a former union butcher would know the best cut of steak in the world..
